It's Playoffs

It's Play-offs. Hockey seasons biggest and most precious time, time when teams battle for what they have been striving to get, Lord Stanley's Cup. The top 8 teams from the eastern and western conference battle 3 rounds of 7 games fighting for the cup. The Bruins won the 2011 Stanley Cup. Receieving a reputation as an undefeated team due to goalie Tim Thomas #33 incredible saves. The B's were quick in the skates, cautions with the stick, but powerful shooting and excellent team work led them to the top. History was made on June 15, 2011 after the cup was awarded to the well deserved team Boston Bruins. Now that they have made the play-offs one again in 2012, can they maintain the cup at home? Happy Hockey Play-offs.

Blades and The Bear

 

Meet Blades, the official Boston Bruins mascot. He always seems to make people of all ages want more. Blades defines what a bear really is, feared, feisty, ferocious, and focused on the ice, of course. Off the ice he's the complete opposite. The bear is just a logo. The difference between blades and "the bear" is that the bear is out to get people at unexpected moments and mess around, while blades is in it for smile and excitement. The bear and Blades are a well fit for the Boston Bruins.

Claude Julien

Boston Bruins 28th head coach Claude Julien was offered the position on June 21, 2008. Since Claude has taken over the Bruins, the team seems to improve tremendously each season. With a 12 year professional coaching skill Claude has managed win us the Stanley Cup, he has done a phenomenal job at training and making sure that the players are humbled and properly prepared to be thrown in the ice. From coaching IHL, CHL, AHL, and NHL Claude has definitely made a name for himself as a successful coach.

End of a Regular Season For The Bears

On April 7, 2012 the Boston Bruins played their last game of their regular season. The game against the Buffalo Sabers was not only a close game but it was also a game that made fans go wild. With a final score of 4-3 the Boston Bruins made a quick come back during the shoot out. Out of the 82 games played, winning 49, losing 29 and 4 over time loss, the Bruins came out with a total of 102 points making them first in the Northeast Division, second in the Eastern Conference, and fourth in the League. The Bruins are now on their way to face what we all call "Reality". This is when NHL Hockey games gets real intense. With an outstanding regular season out of the way, the 3 round of the 7 games are what really counts now. WE WANT THE CUP!

Besides understanding the game of hockey, there are also a few things you need to know about the Boston Bruins. I'm putting a video up because you will get a better feel of the outcome if you don't comprehend the simple Bruins rule. Fans take the TD BankNorth Garden and the Bruins extremely seriously. A simple mess up and you may be dealing with Blades himself

Meet The Players

There are five positions in hockey

1. Center - which is a forward position whose primary zone of play is the middle of the ice.
2. Left Wing - Protects the defenseman, moves back on left side whenever puck changes position.
3. Right Wing - Protects the defenseman, moves back on right side whenever puck changes position.
4. Defense - One of the two players that are positioned further back on the ice than the forward.
5. Goalie - Protects the net.
